About Humanities and Social Sciences Labs:

The Humanities and Social Sciences Labs are open to all NCSU students (undergraduate and graduate) taking Humanities and Social Science courses. The labs are equipped with a variety of software packages commonly used in the humanities and social science disciplines. Labs are also equipped with commonly needed equipment like scanners, printers, and headsets (in language labs only).


The CHASS Instructional Technology Support Group has three openings for a lab assistant for Fall 2016. The successful candidates for these positions will be comfortable with current Windows and Apple operating systems. They will have demonstrated customer support skills which equip them to assist students, faculty and staff with use of instructional projection systems deployed in CHASS supported classrooms, conference rooms and computer labs. Additional duties may include moving and installing equipment, fielding help-desk inquiries, opening and closing labs, organizing resources, troubleshooting and other duties as assigned.To apply for this position, students must send an email with a subject line of "Fall 2016 lab assistant" to the email account, chass_computerlabs@ncsu.edu. *Note: All labs will be closed over breaks and holidays.*  In addition, instructional labs will be closed for scheduled classes. while walk-in labs may occasionally be closed for workshops or "one-time" class meetings. Withers 131 and 1911-110 close for walk-in use at 6pm Monday-Thursday during regular semesters and at 4pm on Friday or immediately upon the end of classes scheduled later than those times.
